The number of mobile users who use mobile data are increasing as the number of mobile users is increasing. Some years ago,we depended on broadband connection and internet cafe's , but the introduction of smartphones reduced it to our fingertips. But the problem is that the rate of mobile data plans is increasing day by day. The unlimited data plan offers are out of our budget too. This is the problem that is disturbing many mobile users. So, without further adieu, I present 5 tips for saving our precious mobile data.
1.USING CHROME DATA SAVER
Many mobile users are using chrome browser. But did you guys know that there is a feature called data saver? This alone can help you save 30-35 % of your precious data. What this do is that chrome will use Google servers to compress pages you visit before downloading them. To activate this feature do the following steps:
Step 1-Launch chrome browser.
Step 2- Tap the 3 dots located on the top right corner.
Step 3- From the drop-down menu select settings
Step 4- Scroll down till you find the option called Data saver.
Step 5- Enable it.
2. USE OFFLINE APPS AND GAMES
Many of the apps and games require internet. Try to uninstall apps which you dont need, because sometimes these apps will drain your data from background.
3.DISABLE BACKGROUND DATA
Some apps as I said above use internet in the background without your knowledge. There is a way to stop this. Go to settings, there will be an option called data usage, from there select the app that you want to disable background data, and there will be an option called 'Restrict app background data', enable it and save data.
4. DISABLE AUTO-UPDATE APPS
In the play store by default the auto-update option is enabled, this causes the wastage of your data. It had happened to me a lot of times. To prevent this from happening, go to play store, From the l;eft slide bar choose settings, There you can find under the general tab- 'Auto-update apps' and select Do not auto-update apps.
5. OPERA VIDEO COMPRESSION
Now, there is an option called video compression in the opera browser for android. This not only saves data but also makes video load much much faster. For this download opera browser and go to settings. There you can find the option called Data-saving. Then, tick the box called video compression.
So guys try out these methods and let me know in the comments whether I missed something.
