One of the major upgrade of the Xiaomi Mi band 3 from the Mi band 2 is the larger screen. Mi band 3 sports a 0.78-inch OLED capacitive touch display which is about double the size when compared to the 0.42-inch Mi Band 2.
The Mi band 3 also got a major upgrade in its battery section. It sports a 110maH battery which is about 50% increase from its predecessor Mi band 2 which had a battery capacity of 70maH. Xiaomi is promising 20 days of battery life which is dependent on the usage of the user.
Some other features include improved notification prompts, the ability to directly mute incoming calls on mi band itself, and Xiaomi is also claiming that the Band is more comfortable on the wrist than it' predecessor.
The Mi band 3 now comes with an NFC chip which will enable wireless transactions without even taking out your smartphone. But this NFC chip is available only for a higher variant which costs about $5 more from the base variant.
The Mi band 3 also comes with interchangeable straps in 3 color options- Black, Navy Blue, and Orange. The band also comes with usual functions of a fitness tracker such as fitness and activity tracking(including step count, calorie counter, and distance walked), sleep monitoring, heart rate sensor etc.

Mi Band 3 Features
One of the features of the Mi Band 3 is water resistance, Xiaomi was always criticised for the lack of a stronger water resistance on its fitness trackers, and Xiaomi has fixed the complaints by making the Mi band 3 waterproof and can be submerged in up to 50m water, so this means that users can use the Mi band while going for a swim without having the fear of ruining the fitness tracker.Pic source: gsmarena.com (Xiaomi Official slides) |
